There was no sound on the ranch that morning. No birds chirping or animals stirring in the underbrush, no wickers from the horses in the stables, not even the whisper of a breeze. The colors seemed more intense as well, as the sun started its assent in the eastern sky. There were no shades of gold and pink in the sunrise, but instead the deep reds and oranges that had warned sailors of impending danger for centuries. It was as though the universe itself was holding its breath, waiting for the outcome of the epic battle that was about to take place.
The two combatants stood several feet apart, their eyes narrowed as each sized up the other. They both knew that this was it, and that the outcome would determine the victor for all time. There would be no more hissing taunts, no more backstabbing contests, no more selling secrets and photos to trashy tabloids. The end had finally come, one way, or the other.
K’tanya reached up and pulled a blond curl out of her eyes, her perfectly manicured nails pointed like daggers. Her eyes never left her opponent, taking in the voluptuous curves and sniffing slightly at the overdone cleavage. It had always been war between them, but both had now tired of the game.
“All right, let’s get this over with, pig.”
Piggy narrowed her eyes, her snout curling slightly in derision. “Bring it on, toots.”
And as they flew at each other, the perfect peace of the morning was shattered with marital arts war cries, and strands of blond hair that flew in the breeze.

It was only an hour or so later when Hsu was woken by the smell of fresh brewed coffee. Slipping on a robe, he made his way to the kitchen to see what was going on. “What’s all this?”
K’tanya, perfectly coiffed as always, turned to smile brightly at him. “I made you breakfast. I hope you like your bacon extra crispy.”
ooc: Much thanks to Aidan!mun for the idea and inspiration. I borrowed Hsu and Piggy for this prompt because it was a dream situation and therefore never actually happened. Please don't kill me. No pigs were hurt during the writing of this dream.
