toodamnmanymuses: (Hurt - Broken)
It had gone on long enough. K’tanya had known this for a while, but she had turned a blind eye to that fact, not wanting to admit it was over. However she had spent quite a bit of time thinking about it while trying to relax in her tropical paradise.

She still loved him, in her own way. However as much as it hurt she needed to face the fact that he just didn’t feel the same, and nothing she did was going to change that simple truth.

It was time to talk Aidan, and then finally let him go.

"What in the hell are you thinking?"

K’tanya sighed and barely refrained from rolling her eyes. If it wasn’t one thing, then it was another. "What is it this time?"

"Palm trees in New York? The damn things are going to freeze and die this winter!"

"Have a little faith, Aidan. This is me we’re talking about after all. I simply put an invisible shield over the whole back yard that will keep it around ninety degrees all year round. The trees will be fine."

"..."

"Don’t look so shocked. The contract did call for an indoor pool after all."

K’tanya walks into the kitchen while Aidan, who’s been so grouchy lately for some reason, is making breakfast. She moves closer, oblivious to the glare he bestows upon her. “Baby, do you think I could redecorate my rooms?”

“No, and don’t call me baby. I’m not your baby and I’m never going to be your baby.”

Whatever. “Please?”

“No.”

“Pretty please?”

“No!”

“Pretty please with strawberries on top?”

“NO!”

“I’ll work much faster if I’m in a happy environment, Aidan.”

There’s a long pause before he finally sighs. “Fine, but don’t go overboard.”

“I promise.”

She considers it another victory.
