charloft - 100 drabbles - 88. Arrangement
Aug. 22nd, 2010 09:42 pmWes wasn't happy, but there wasn't much he could do about it at this point. He'd made a deal, and now it was time to start paying up.
"You took care of that pesky little problem then?"
He nodded, figuring it was best if he just kept his mouth shut as much as possible.
"And it went well? No issues I should know about or anything?"
"It went fine. Are we finished?"
K’tanya nodded. "We're finished, at least for the moment. Just make sure you're available the next time I need you."
Wes simply grunted in response before walking away.
"You took care of that pesky little problem then?"
He nodded, figuring it was best if he just kept his mouth shut as much as possible.
"And it went well? No issues I should know about or anything?"
"It went fine. Are we finished?"
K’tanya nodded. "We're finished, at least for the moment. Just make sure you're available the next time I need you."

Jul. 19th, 2010 02:50 pmK’tanya pulled up the file for her newest best seller and read over some of her notes.
Listen to the song on repeat.
Make a written list of every song you can think of that gets stuck in your head.
Think of your favorite song and sing it out loud.
Sing just the chorus of an even more irritating song until they cancel each other out.
Hunt down and kill that damn gecko. No one needs to be kung fu fighting that much.
Soon everyone would know how to get rid of those damn songs, once and for all.

Kismet looked up from the book he was studying. "What’s stupid?"
"I found something here that says all redheads are violent and have a temper. That’s not like me at all."
"Well, dad did tell me once that you got so mad at him you destroyed two villages with a volcano."
K’tanya turned away from her laptop and looked at her son, her eyes flashing a dangerous shade of red. "That’s different. He provoked me."
Wary of her sudden change in mood, Kismet slowly nodded. "Okay, I believe you."
Satisfied, K’tanya returned to her research.

The neighbors are going to drive me nuts. If I’ve told them once then I’d told them a thousand times that if they don’t do something about the late night partying and noise then I’ll have to take measures into my own hands. They keep saying they will, but nothing ever happens.

I was woken up late last night by the lights of a police car. Seems they got an anonymous tip about a suspicious ‘herb garden’ back behind the shed next door. I guess they found some kind of lab there too.
Next time maybe they’ll listen.

Everything that is, except for Aidan.
She’d had him once of course, but eventually got bored as she always did. However instead of pining for her as so many had done, he had moved on. Now Aidan was supposedly ‘in love’ with him, and thus unattainable.
She’d have to see about that.

Jun. 4th, 2010 03:31 pmK’tanya hadn’t meant to obliterate the entire city and surrounding countryside. It had been an accident really, just the fallout of an argument that had gotten a little bit too heated. If he had just kept his snarky words and ‘been there, done that’ attitude to himself in the first place then she wouldn’t have gotten so angry, and everything would have been fine.
She swore as she pulled herself free of the rubble and surveyed the damage that she would never again live so close to such a hothead.
And Pompeii had been such a nice little vacation spot.
