toodamnmanymusesWow, that’s a tough one. You see, they all have their place and all, and when each comes around, it’s a pretty damn good feeling.
Like, when you’re in school right? And there’s this one boy who just won’t stop picking on you. And no matter how many times you tell him that you don’t want to play his stupid bottle game, he doesn’t seem to get the whole no thing. So he keeps knocking books and stuff out of your hand in this whole desperate cry for attention. Then finally, one day you just get so mad, that you grab the nearest boy and you give him a kiss right in front of the other boy, and you use tongue and everything. Let me tell you, there’s nothing quite like the look on that kid’s face when he sees that little demonstration. So yeah, revenge can be pretty sweet, let me tell you.
Or, what about the time when all the girl’s in the so called popular group decide that they can’t handle your star status, and they plan this elaborate trick in order to keep you from becoming the homecoming queen. They tell your hot, intelligent, jock boyfriend that you totally cheated on him. Then to prove it they go and show this video that they rigged to everyone where you’re kissing another girl and getting all hot and heavy and stuff. To top it all off, they then take your clothes out of your locker and slash them into shreds while your showering after gym. Funny thing though, seems your boyfriend is totally into that whole threesome thing, and so are most of the other guys. So they all vote for you anyway. Then the girls all end up wearing the shredded look to school and think it’s the coolest thing ever, so they all vote for you too. And when the dust clears, your standing on the stage wearing a crown and carrying a dozen roses and those skanks are left standing in the audience, wondering what went wrong. Now that is an awesome moment of vindication right there.
In the end though, I think I would really have to go with relief. I don’t know about the rest of you, but when I feel that build up, and I’m not sure whether to scream in pain or pleasure, there’s nothing quite like that explosion of relief that just comes over you. It really does leave both revenge and vindication in the dust if you ask me.
