Time is a funny thing you know? I mean it’s one of those universal constants right, and so it’s always the same. Even when man decides to change the rules and do something utterly stupid like create that whole daylight savings time thing. Which of course, even then they couldn’t decide to all follow the rule and some people had to be different and ignore the whole idea,Hawaii, American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, and most of Arizona, I’m talking about you! which just made things even more confusing. Then of course there was the whole forwards and backwards thing that happens when you switch time zones, which is a total headache in and of itself. And that’s just weird when you stop and think about the fact that they use time in like, mathematical stuff in order to try and figure other stuff out.
To the universe though, which is way smarter than man ever wanted to be, time is a constant. An hour is an hour no matter how long or short it might seem. So even when you think time has slowed to a crawl, like when your sitting in a dentist’s chair, or waiting for Friday to be over so you can get a few days off from the daily grind, or those last few weeks before you get a bunch of presents, or whatever, it’s still an hour. Which of course means that even when it seems to be going by in a heartbeat like on Sunday evenings, or those last few days of summer before heading back to school, or pretty much doing anything fun, it’s still an hour people.
Life is like that too. I mean, a year is still a year, but they never seem to be the same where time is concerned. Some of them seem to go by really slow, especially when you’re alone or things just aren’t going good. Then, when things are finally just where you want them to be, it seems to just fly by in a heartbeat. Then one day, it’s all over and you find yourself looking back and wondering where all the time went. So seriously, make the most of it people, because when it’s gone, then it’s gone.
And please, for the love of all that is good and just in this world, don’t ever wear plaid or bring back anything from the 80’s when it comes to clothing. There really isn’t enough time in the universe to subject the rest of us to those kinds of fashion disasters.
