It was a city of a million dreams, all of them smelling of money and cast in the Technicolor glow of neon lights. It was a place where many of those dreams were cast upon the rocks of despair, crashing down around the ears and pocketbooks of those who had dared to dream them. Everybody knew going in that it was all or nothing in this city where dreams and nightmares walked the streets together, but they went in just the same.
When K’tanya walked into the MGM Grand, searching for her own little slice of heaven on earth, she went in knowing that for her it would be different. For her the doors would open and the birds would sing. For her rainbows would slice through the darkness, allowing the sun to shine upon her as it did for no other. The world would be laid at her feet, and the people would see that she was unlike anyone else they had ever set eyes on.
No more would people think of Madonna, Fergie, or Gwen Stefani when they came to bask in the glow of the stars. No more would they marvel at the beauty and grace of Dita Von Tease and the Pussycat Dolls stage troupe. Instead, they would come to see the power and majesty that could only be seen in the presence of a true wonder of the known world. They would come to see her, K’tanya Demonstar, the best headliner that this city would ever see.
Only then would Las Vegas be the true entertainment capital of the world, and a place where dreams really did come true.
