Can I just say that Scarlett O’Hara was a complete and utter twit? I mean seriously, the woman could have had practically any man she wanted, and yet she basically threw her whole life away over the one guy she couldn’t get. And they would have had a really crappy life together anyway. I mean did anyone else see the fact that those two had personalities that clashed almost as much as the North and South? And what the hell kind of name is Ashley for a guy anyway?
What the hell is wrong with her that she couldn’t see how absolutely perfect Rhett was for her until she had screwed everything up so badly that he couldn’t stand the sight of her anymore? I mean sure he was absolutely scandalous for that day and age, and way outside of Southern High Society unless he could charm his way in, but that was what was so great about him. He was everything she needed, and yet she was so sure that she wanted that perfectly boring Southern gentleman because of what Society wanted, even though she rarely cared that much about it anyway given her behavior.
Of course it might have been because the South was going to hell, and she wanted to keep some semblance of it or whatever, but she should have realized that she needed to just move on with the hot bad boy. I mean really, what woman doesn’t want that, right? I mean think about it. Most of us go and marry the good guy and pine for the bad boy, just like that girl in that Pirates movie. She married the former blacksmith, but she was totally aching for pirate, am I right? Why couldn’t Scarlett just see that she had the better end of the deal and move the hell on!
So yeah, Scarlett was a twit, and I didn’t much like the movie because I couldn’t stop yelling at her to get her head out of her ass and see the truth. She was just too busy trying to win the hand of some guy with a girl’s name instead of helping her actual husband with his post war efforts. I mean seriously, do you know how much money he made working to rebuild the South after the war?
Hot, a rebel, and rich, and she just threw it away like a total dumbass.
