Meme - Psychological Test
Apr. 19th, 2011 02:00 pmYou are in a perpetual quest to find the new, the exciting. Emotionally volatile, you are known for sudden changes of opinion, of appreciation, and behavior. Following rules and established methods is difficult for you and the difficulties of higher education are usually quite daunting. Knowledge is best gained through an intimate association with the matter at hand. Usually driven by attitudes and desires of the group, you are talented in an established field of endeavor. Emotions come and go without a strong understanding of their causes. They are unexpected guests in an otherwise placid landscape. You live by your own codes of conduct, which can be noble or terrible depending on the individual. Authority is meaningless to you. You hate to be predictable, at all costs. Rarely verbally effusive, you can at times feel as if your feelings are too deep for words. You are very observant, but rarely express these observations to others.

Who was the first fictional character you really fell in love with?
What qualities or traits did s/he have that made her/him admirable?
Did that character and those traits influence your development as a writer / roleplayer? If so, how?
The first one I can remember really falling in love with was Optimus Prime. There were other characters before that I liked, but none of them grabbed me quite the way he did. To this day he's still one of my all time favorite characters.
I think for me he was always that 'white knight' kind of character that little girls dreamed about when they were growing up. He was the one who was always there when he was needed, whether it was a literal rescue, or a figurative one. He cared about the people he worked with, and would do whatever it took to save them and the world. If that meant sacrificing himself for the greater good, then so be it. He was a hero because he did what was right, not because he wanted to be one. That made him awesome in my eyes. The fact that he was a robot didn't matter a bit.
I don't know that he really influenced my development as a writer or roleplayer much other than wanting to make sure that any characters that I wrote or developed would be the kind of characters that people either loved, or loved to hate. I wanted them to seem to take on a life of their own, like Optimus had done for me when I was a kid.

Meme - Kiss Flavor
Dec. 17th, 2010 02:12 pmYour Kisses Taste Like Peaches |
![]() You are capricious and unpredictable. You're personality (and even how you kiss) changes throughout the day. You are a hopeless romantic. You fall for people quickly, but luckily they often fall for you too. You need passion and excitement in a relationship. You can lose interest quickly. You and a chocolate kisser will start sparks, but stay away from cool-headed orange kissers! |
It was supposed to be the happiest day of her life. She was supposed to stand beside the man of her dreams and say the words that would join their lives together as one. Then, with their friends and family cheering them on, they would start their happily ever after.
Yet as she looked at her reflection in the mirror, hair done up in a soft cascade of perfect curls, make-up just so, and wearing the perfect white dress, she couldn’t see it happening anymore. He was everything she needed, nothing that she wanted, and it would simply never work.

Aug. 22nd, 2010 09:42 pmWes wasn't happy, but there wasn't much he could do about it at this point. He'd made a deal, and now it was time to start paying up.
"You took care of that pesky little problem then?"
He nodded, figuring it was best if he just kept his mouth shut as much as possible.
"And it went well? No issues I should know about or anything?"
"It went fine. Are we finished?"
K’tanya nodded. "We're finished, at least for the moment. Just make sure you're available the next time I need you."
Wes simply grunted in response before walking away.

"Stop right there."
Destiny froze in place, her fingers still in the process of pulling a still warm chocolate chip cookie out of the cookie jar.
"Drop it."
Reluctantly, she did as she was told. As she turned around to face her mother, Destiny stuck her bottom lip out slightly in a pout. "It’s not fair. You have eyes in the back of your head."
K’tanya rolled her eyes slightly. "You are such a drama queen. I don’t have eyes in the back of my head. I have a network of security cameras. Now go to your room, young lady."

K’tanya was bored.
She wasn’t just a little bored, or somewhat bored, or even deep sigh bored. Instead it was the kind of boredom where absolutely nothing she did seemed to alleviate the feeling. Even going shopping seemed to be more of a chore than the joy that it had always been in the past.
Finally at her wit’s end, K’tanya decided that what she needed was a change of scenery. So she bought a yacht, hired a crew, and embarked on a world tour.
If that didn’t cure her boredom, then she’d simply have to consider more drastic measures.

charloft - 100 drabbles - 83. Bliss
Aug. 19th, 2010 03:19 pmThe boy had been so innocent and naïve, brokenhearted over a woman he could never hope to keep.
K’tanya had been bored, and he was cute, so she thought to see how much he really knew about himself. Shifting into Bliss, complete with angelic wings, she had taken it upon herself to show him the possibilities.
Eventually she had gotten bored yet again, and so had left him with a kiss and an Immortal puppy to keep him company.
If she had only known what her game would lead to in the future, she might have left well enough alone.

“You want me to do what?”
“Go fishing. You know, head into the great outdoors, spend some quality time with nature, and release some stress. You know, relax?”
“So let me get this straight. You want to drag me out into the middle of nowhere, subject me to dirt, blood sucking mosquitoes, whatever might be floating in the water, and the possibility of actually touching a living fish, and you call that relaxing?”
“Yeah…”
“I don’t think so, Kismet. If you really want to go fishing then you can just go ask Adam. I’m sure he’ll absolutely love the idea.”

K’tanya watched as her daughter moved through the water with what seemed to be almost effortless ease. Destiny had always taken to the water, often spending hours in the bathtub even as a toddler. Now she had joined the swim team at school and rarely seemed to leave the pool.
Given her own fiery nature, K’tanya didn’t really understand Destiny’s love of the water. She wondered if perhaps it was a trait the child had inherited from her father.
Perhaps one day she would ask him, but for now she was simply content to watch their daughter in her element.

K’tanya considered the man sitting across from her. “You want to do it live-action?”
“Absolutely, and I can’t think of anyone else that I would want to play our leading lady. You’re absolutely perfect.”
“Well of course I am, but I am going to have to insist on some provisions in the contract. For instance this kind of shoot will be murder on my hair, so I want my personal hairdresser on set at all times.”
“Anything you want, babe.”
“Oh and one more thing. If I’m going to be playing Ariel, then I’m going to need some bigger shells.”

Her laugh broke the silence.
“I swear I can do it!”
“No you can’t, Shawn.”
“Nobody asked you to sing 'Somebody’s Watching Me' at the party last night either, Gus, but that didn’t stop you.”
“Okay first of all that made no sense whatsoever, and secondly, that was you!”
“Whatever. Look, it’s not even that deep. How hard can it be?”
K’tanya finally managed to stifle her laughter. Mostly. “So prove it, and then you can have that kiss.”
“Done.”
A few moments later Shawn leaped off the edge, dragging Gus with him. Both of them were screaming like girls.

K’tanya had spent the last hour searching the beach for her daughter. When she finally found Destiny near the water, sniffling softly, she didn’t have the heart to scold her. “What’s the matter, Pumpkin?”
Destiny pointed at a nearby dog that was happily eating something. “He knocked me down and ruined my ice cream.”
“Well you know what they say. There’s no use crying over dropped ice cream.”
“It’s spilled milk, mom”
“Close enough. Now come with me and we’ll get you a new one. Double scoop this time.”
Smiling through the tears, Destiny nodded and followed after her mother.
