RP - Wedding Dress Shopping - Part 2

Despite Archimedes less than pleased attitude at being asked to carry Adam across the ocean, and Adam's less than pleased attitude with being coerced into riding on the back of the ill-tempered griffin, they manage to make it to Paris with only a few minor problems. Minor of course meaning that nobody ended up dead or seriously injured on the ride over. At least, not for very long.

The landing on the rooftop of K'tanya's Paris residence is a bit bumpy of course, but she blames it on the length of the journey and doesn't even consider the possibility that the griffin is doing it on purpose just to piss off his unwanted passenger. Besides, she's so excited about the prospect of shopping for her wedding dress materials on Adam's credit cards, that the shopping is all that she can think about anyways.

"Well, here we are, safe and sound just like I promised." Mostly.

She smiles at him as she settles down in the chair, although she knows it's only for her benefit that he bothered. She's just special like that.

"Perfect."

Obviously.

"Oh, well obviously." He says as he pulls out the menu and looks at it.

For some reason, he automatically switched to French. So, he's speaking that right now even though I can't write it.

Of course, she speaks several language as though she were born to them, and she switches to the same language almost instantly without even having to think about it.

"Although oddly enough, he hasn't really shown anything in the way of..." she leans in closer to whisper, "special abilities. At least, not yet and not that he's told me about."

"Not even when he was a baby?" He says, "And...has he been a baby long or did he grow up quickly?"

She shakes her head as she answers, her fingers playing with the napkin that she set in her lap just a few moments before he asked the question. "No, not that I could see. He was a baby for a little while, but he grows much faster than human children. I'm actually thinking that maybe it won't show up just yet given that aspect of things. I mean, it's only been a couple of years."

"So, is he immortal or will he grow up quickly to an old man?"

"Oh he's like me," she says before the waiter comes over and she takes a moment to order her lunch and let then him order before she continues.

"He aged to a certain point and now he'll stay like that forever. So, he's immortal, he's just not..." she makes a motion with her finger across her neck to indicate he's not Immortal in the same sense as Methos.

He frowns, "I get it."

Wait, "Actually, I'm still not entirely sure that I know what you are."

"I'm an Angel of course."

She pauses for a moment, then adds with a bit of reluctance, "well, half Angel anyway."

"Half Angel?"

That explains a lot.

"Half what else?"

Oh if he thought that explained a lot, wait till he hears this one.

"Demon, but I totally take after mom."

Unless of course she gets pissed off, then she takes out entire countrysides with nearby volcanoes.

He has to bite his lip from saying or really thinking anything that he was thinking when she said that.

"Who is your mother?"

Good idea, since she would really hate to fry Paris. They have an awesome fashion week here.

"Oh she's not like, way up in the hierarchy or anything. She's no Gabriel or Michael. She's just a healing Angel. Her name is Lelahel and she's in charge of harmony and beauty."

"She sounds lovely. Do you still keep in contact with her?"

She shakes her head somewhat sadly. The waiter comes by and sets their drinks down on the table, and K'tanya waits for him to leave before actually answering aloud. "I don't really talk to any of my mothers."

Yes, that would be a plural.

"Mothers??" He says as he takes a long, long drink of his french piss water beer.

K'tanya nods and sips her Sangria. "Oh yes. My father actually did something similar to what I did with Kismet. When I was still in the womb, he gave me certain traits from individuals throughout time that he felt were exceptional in some way. Of course, I'm not planning on using my son as a tool for my evil schemes like father did with me."

Which made total sense when you think about it. How else could she be so damn perfect and have all these nifty powers!

"That...makes sense. Of all time? So, you can...obviously time travel then?"

"Of course. I just don't like doing it all that much because messing with the whole flow of time thing is BAD. I tried it once. World War II? Yeah, my bad."

"I should have known that was because of you."

"Well how was I supposed to know that sweet little painter was going to turn out to be a total nutball with a God complex or whatever. I mean if I would have known what he was going to do then I would never have saved him in the first place!"

"It wasn't really your fault, I don't think. It could have been anyone at that time." He means that too.

She sighs as the waiter brings them the croissant basket and the fruit and cheese tray that she ordered. "Yeah, I guess. I totally tried to make up for it though. I mean, I figured that the whole internet thing at least made it somewhat better."

"Oh, yes. Thank you for that."

It is ALL making sense now. How else would these mortals think of it? Seriously?

"You are so welcome!" She beams as she takes a croissant out of the basket and proceeds to spread some butter on it. "So, I'm thinking we start here for trim and possibly make a small side trip to China for silk if we can't find anything descent in town."

You have no idea how pissed she was when Al Gore tried to take credit for it. Not pretty.
