RP - Wedding Dress Shopping - Part 2

Despite Archimedes less than pleased attitude at being asked to carry Adam across the ocean, and Adam's less than pleased attitude with being coerced into riding on the back of the ill-tempered griffin, they manage to make it to Paris with only a few minor problems. Minor of course meaning that nobody ended up dead or seriously injured on the ride over. At least, not for very long.

The landing on the rooftop of K'tanya's Paris residence is a bit bumpy of course, but she blames it on the length of the journey and doesn't even consider the possibility that the griffin is doing it on purpose just to piss off his unwanted passenger. Besides, she's so excited about the prospect of shopping for her wedding dress materials on Adam's credit cards, that the shopping is all that she can think about anyways.

"Well, here we are, safe and sound just like I promised." Mostly.

"Sorry." He says, shaking his head slightly at the title. He's never met him, but he wonders if he knows what he is getting into.

When the elevator opens again, he's stunned. He thought that his was nice in New York, but it was nothing compared.

"Oh don't worry about it. I mean at you age, you can't be expected to remember everything anyway."

"Funny. Very funny."

He looks at her, "We aren't staying here long, are we? I mean, we are going...right away...right?"

"Of course we are."

She starts heading deeper into the penthouse, calling over her shoulder as she goes, "as soon as I take a shower. Make yourself comfortable!"

They had been on the back of a griffin for goodness sake, for at least a couple of hours! She needed a shower!

He was too, but he's not going to shower with her!

Adam sits on her couch...on the very edge of it so that it doesn't smell. He waits...

K'tanys sings in the shower. Actually, she could totally be a pop star or an opera singer if she wanted. Yes, she could totally put Mariah to shame.

She also washes, rinse, and repeats at least twice.

Plus there's the shaving.

He quirks his eyebrow as he listens to her in the shower. He's convinces, though, that it is the radio.

Adam moves back on the couch, getting a bit more comfortable because she's taking so long.

The nice thing about her apartment? Totally unlimited hot water supply. Seriously.

So, it's about forty-five minutes later when she comes out in a flowing summer dress.

"Did you want one?"

Which was just proof that she is thinking about his well-being!

Or she just didn't want him to stink up everything. "Is there enough water?"

And...clothes, for that matter?

Well, there was that too.

"Oh yeah. There's plenty of water and I've got some spare clothes for you in the smaller bedroom. They should fit well enough."

Telepathy is totally one of her abilities you know.

"How..." He shakes his head. "Nevermind."

Adam stands up and goes to take a shower. He's back in 5 to 10 minutes, tops.

By the time he gets back, she's in the kitchen checking to see if there's anything in there to eat. Of course, there's nothing of much interest given that she hasn't been here in a while.

"We totally need to get some lunch."

He stands in the doorway, "Lunch?" He looks out the window, "Right. Sure, we can do that."

"Great! There's this adorable little cafe' just down the street that has the most divine croissants that they serve with this cheese and fruit tray."

She grabs her purse and slips it over her shoulder again, then pauses as she looks him over. "They don't fit too bad, actually. A little bit short in the leg and arms maybe, but that's to be expected. Your at least a couple inches taller."

"A couple inches taller than who?" He says, "Why do you have men clothing in your apartment. I doubt the good Prince has been here yet to play house."

He rolls the sleeves up so that it wouldn't be too noticeable. He can't do anything about the pants.

"Kismet," she says, as though the name should just explain everything.

She opens the door and starts down the hallway for the regular elevators down to the lobby, without even bothering to see if he's following her because obviously he would be.

"Is that seriously his name? Faith or Destiny? Where is he from?

He catches up with her, now very curious. "Why are you hiding him?"

She stops and gives him one of those looks. "Yes, that is seriously his name. I picked it out myself. And I'm not hiding him. He's living here while he goes to school, that's all. I mean, why would I hide my greatest creation? Human ethics aside."

Then she continues on to the elevator as though that little exchange never even happened, pushes the button, and walks inside. She then lifts an eyebrow as she waits for him to join her. "Coming? I'm hungry."

He is stopped and looking at her with a very confused look on his face.

When she sees that he's not following, she lets out a very put upon sigh and goes back into the hallway.

"He's my son, Adam. I created him, more or less, to be exactly what I wanted in a child. You know, my egg, some donated sperm, a little DNA I gathered from various people, some genes here and there that I spliced a bit, nine months in the oven, and then instant prodigy. I mean hey, look what it did for me, right?"

She looks thoughtful for a moment. "It's kind of like cooking ramen, you know? You just keep on adding stuff you like until you get it just the way you want it.

"You. Created. A Son?" He says, still trying to wrap his mind around it. "How...why...what?"

He's so confused now. "Wait. Donated Sperm? DNA? Who did you 'borrow' to make this kid?"

Now things get a little bit vague as she grabs his hand and starts to pull him towards the elevator. "Oh you know, some people here and there that I particularly liked for one reason or another."

He goes with her, "So...me? Are you saying that I may have a son?"

Getting him into the elevator, finally, she pushes the button to take them to the lobby and leans back against the wall to look at him. "Well, you know, it's complicated. I mean, I suppose technically you could say that, but it's more like he's your former wife's son about seven times removed. You're in there to be sure, but so are several other people so it's all like, diluted."

She looks thoughtful for a moment. "Although now that I think about it, he does kind of look like you a little bit in the face."

He frowns slightly because there could be someone out there with his face. Or...somewhat of his.
